The first song I made for the Homestuck contest, and IMO the best! It's supposed to be a Showtime for the new generaiton, a strife theme for Jake English - although the melody ended up sounding more like Dissension than Showtime. The progression is supposed to be Showtime-esque as well, starting from the piano refrain, going into a chiptune-esque portion, and finally building to a BOSS FIGHT version, using punchy drums (the punchiest!) to simulate gunshots.
So close your eyes and imagine Jake doing that thing where he flies through the air shooting both guns at once. Yes. So sweet. Wouldn't it be great if there were an animated flash to go with it? That would be SUPER SWEET.
(Bonus fun fact: the last 30 seconds of the song was actually the first part to be conceptualized!)

The first of my three entries to the Homestuck Music Contest, the other two being Vodka Mutiny and Daywalker ~Rise~.
This didn't get in, even though I felt that it was my strongest contender. I hoped that it could serve as the "Showtime" for the Alpha kids, and modelled it specifically after "Showtime" and "Dissension," with a recognizable motif repeated in different styles.
Fun fact: I came up with the last 1 minute of the song or so first; I got the idea to use punchy snares to simulate Jake shooting everywhere. I quite like the result!

It’s a Strife theme for Jake English! I was originally going to make something Showtime-esque - hence the piano refrain at the start - but it ended up sounding more like Dissension. I figure Jake is p. much a John/Jade cross so I just ran with it.
Also, towards the end, please imagine Jake doing that thing where he jumps in the air shooting both pistols at once.
